The 600 square foot limit

Every Kingfisher design follows Southern Nevada water regulations. Under Las Vegas Valley Water District rules, single-family pools, spas and water features permitted after September 1, 2022 are limited to 600 square feet of combined surface area. Outdoor ornamental fountains over 10 square feet are not allowed.

A recent KingfisherFeatured pool project

In this sample project, we highlight a medium custom pool built in Summerlin. The design stayed within the 600 square foot limit required by the water district.

We managed the engineering and permits, excavated the site, and constructed a concrete shell. The final result features a pebble finish, Pentair equipment and waterline tile.

Questions about new pools

All Questions
Can I build a pool larger than 600 square feet?

No. The Las Vegas Valley Water District limits new single-family pools, spas and water features permitted after September 1, 2022 to a combined total of 600 square feet of surface area.

Do you pull the permits for the construction?

Yes. Kingfisher handles all the paperwork, submits the engineering plans, and pulls the required permits from the city or county before any digging begins.

What kind of equipment do you install?

We install Pentair, Hayward and Jandy equipment on our new builds, including variable-speed pumps and cartridge or DE filters.

Who handles the chemical startup?

We manage the initial startup chemistry. New plaster and pebble finishes require specific balancing, and we follow the plaster maker’s schedule.

Can you add a spa to the design?

Yes, we can integrate a spa into your new pool design. Keep in mind that the spa’s surface area counts toward the 600 square foot limit.
