Managing pools near theCenter of the valley

The unincorporated town of Paradise sits near the center of the valley and relies on the same hard municipal water as the rest of the region. The supply contains 280 ppm of total hardness. Our weekly maintenance checks the water balance.

During the intense July heat, pools lose significant water to evaporation. A typical 470 square foot pool can lose up to 22,842 gallons a year. Topping up with more hard tap water increases the calcium over time.

When Paradise owners want to renovate, we follow Southern Nevada rules. Any new single-family pool permitted after September 1, 2022 is restricted to 600 square feet of combined surface area.

Local challenges forCentral valley pools

Our technicians check for weather damage and mineral buildup during every scheduled visit.

  • Heavy calcium deposits

The hard tap water leaves a white ring of calcium scale at the tile line and in your gas heater.

  • High evaporation rates

Hot weather forces evaporation. A pool cover cuts this loss by 90 percent, but topping up with hard water increases calcium over time.

  • Summer monsoon dust

High winds in August push heavy dirt into the water. We empty clogged pump baskets as part of our weekly service.

  • Salt cell scaling

Calcium sticks to the metal plates inside salt chlorine generators. We inspect the cell every three months on salt pools.
