Common questionsAnswers for homeowners

We get many questions about hard water, evaporation, and equipment life in Southern Nevada. Here are the facts you need to know about caring for your pool.

  • Local climate factors
  • Equipment maintenance

Weekly service

All Questions
Do I need to be home for the weekly service visit?

You do not need to be home. Technicians just need safe gate access, any dogs secured, and a clear path to the equipment pad.

What happens if it rains on my route day?

A visit postponed for lightning or high monsoon winds is made up within the same week. Your pool gets its scheduled care even with bad weather.

Do you service pools in Boulder City?

We provide weekly routes in Boulder City only when a route day has room. Please call to ask about our current availability in that area.

How do I know what the technician did?

We email a visit report after every weekly stop. It includes water readings, chemicals added, tasks completed, equipment observations, and a photo.

Do you offer a plan without brushing and vacuuming?

Yes, our Chemical Care plan covers weekly water testing, routine chemicals, emptying baskets, and an equipment look-over for a lower monthly rate.

Are specialty chemicals included in the weekly plans?

No, routine chemicals like chlorine and acid are included. Specialty items such as algaecide, phosphate remover, and scale treatments are billed separately.

How much is a repair diagnostic visit?

We charge $85 for a repair diagnostic visit. This fee is credited in full toward the repair when you approve the written estimate within 30 days.

How long is the warranty on repair labor?

We provide a 90-day warranty on our repair workmanship. New equipment we install comes with a one-year installation labor warranty.

What equipment brands do you repair?

We repair most major pool equipment brands, including Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Raypak, and Sta-Rite.

Do you provide after-hours emergency repair service?

We do not offer after-hours service. Urgent repairs like a failed circulation pump or a failed heater are scheduled ahead of routine work during business hours.

Should I replace my pump just because it is ten years old?

No. Age alone is not a reason to replace a pump. We recommend replacement when age, parts availability or repeated failures make a repair poor value.

Can I send a photo of my leaking pipe?

Yes, sending photos of a visible leak or an equipment label helps us prepare for the visit, though it does not replace an on-site diagnosis.

Water and chemistry

All Questions
Why does my pool get white scale on the tile line?

The Las Vegas Valley Water District notes our tap water is very hard, with high calcium levels. This leaves calcium scale as water evaporates.

How much water will my pool lose to evaporation?

SNWA says a typical 470 square foot Southern Nevada pool can lose up to 22,842 gallons a year to evaporation. Topping up with our hard tap water raises calcium levels over time.

Why do you recommend draining for high cyanuric acid?

High cyanuric acid builds up from using chlorine tablets and makes the chlorine work more slowly. It can only be lowered by draining part of the water.

Can I drain my pool water into the street?

No, pool water must be drained into the sanitary sewer, usually through the sewer clean-out at your home.

How often should I drain my hot tub?

We recommend draining, cleaning, and refilling a hot tub every three to four months under normal use.

Renovation and new pools

All Questions
Do you charge for a renovation consultation?

No, consultations for renovations, resurfacing, and new pool construction are free. We provide a written proposal after assessing the project.

How large can a new custom pool be?

Southern Nevada rules limit new single-family pools, spas and water features permitted after September 1, 2022 to 600 square feet of combined surface area.

How long is the warranty on new plaster?

We provide a two-year workmanship warranty on resurfacing and tile work. Plaster and pebble are natural materials, so color variation and normal wear are not defects.

Can you fix a crack in my pool shell?

We repair equipment and equipment-pad leaks and most light, fitting and skimmer leaks we find. Underground line repairs beyond the deck and structural shell cracks are referred to a specialist.

Do you offer financing for a new pool?

Financing is available for renovations and new pools, subject to credit approval through a third-party lender.

Billing and plans

All Questions
Do I have to sign a long contract for weekly service?

We require no long contract. You can cancel your weekly maintenance plan with 30 days of notice.

Do you offer any discounts for seniors?

Yes, we offer 10 percent off weekly service for seniors 65 and over, military, veterans, and first responders.

What does the Full Care plan cost?

The Full Care plan is $149 a month. It adds skimming, brushing, vacuuming where needed and the water-level check to Chemical Care, for pools up to about 20,000 gallons. Larger pools are quoted.

Are filter cleanings included in the monthly fee?

Filter cleanings are included four times a year on the Full Care Plus plan. On other plans, cartridge and DE filter cleanings are billed separately.
