Urgent repairs and safety
Equipment that stops circulating water, leaks at the pad, or a failed heater are scheduled ahead of routine work during business hours. We do not offer after-hours service.
For electrical sparks or burning smells, turn the equipment off at the breaker only if safe, keep everyone away, and call NV Energy or 911 if there is danger. If you smell gas at a heater, leave the area and call Southwest Gas and 911.
Fixing the parts thatKeep your water moving
Our repair technicians handle the major mechanical and electrical components on your equipment pad.
Diagnosis and parts forMost major pool brands
We service most major pool equipment brands, including Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Raypak, and Sta-Rite. When replacing components, we install Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy equipment.

What to look for whenSomething stops working
Your pool often gives clear signs before a complete equipment failure. Here is what you might notice and what it can point to.
Cloudy or green water
You notice algae blooms despite adding chemicals. This often points to a pump not circulating enough or a filter needing repair.
Weak circulation
The skimmer stops pulling leaves and return jets feel soft. This can indicate a clogged impeller or an air leak in the suction side.
Pump noise
You hear a loud grinding or high-pitched squeal. This can point to failing motor bearings.
Heater not heating
The spa stays cold even when turned on. This points to ignition failures, bad sensors, or poor water flow reaching the heater.
Pool losing water
The water drops faster than evaporation explains. This often points to a plumbing leak at the pad or a cracked skimmer basket.
High filter pressure
The gauge reads well above normal. This can point to dirty grids, broken internal manifolds, or blocked return lines.
Weak spa jets
The hot tub jets lack their usual force. This often indicates a failing booster pump or a clogged filter restricting flow.
Automation error codes
The control panel displays a warning light. This can point to communication failures between the panel and the salt cell or pump.
Lights not working
The pool stays dark when the switch is flipped. This usually indicates a burnt out bulb or a tripped GFCI breaker.
The process for diagnosingPool and spa equipment
We find the real problem and explain your options with a written estimate before any repair begins.
Request an inspection
Tell us what you notice and provide photos of any error codes or equipment labels to help us prepare.
Inspect and diagnose
A technician visits your home to test the equipment, open it if necessary, and identify what failed.
Explain the findings
We walk you through the problem and provide a written estimate for the repair or replacement options.
Complete approved work
Once you approve the estimate, we order any needed parts and complete the repair to get your water moving again.
Diagnostic and approval terms
Our diagnostic visit costs $85. When you approve the repair within 30 days, we credit this fee in full toward the final repair bill. We never perform extra work or charge for additional parts without your explicit approval.
Deciding whether toRepair or replace
We never recommend replacing equipment based on age alone. We compare the cost of fixing it against installing a new unit.
When to repair
- The equipment is relatively new
- Replacement parts are easy to source
- The fix costs much less than a new unit
- The original warranty is still active
- The same part has failed repeatedly
When to replace
- Repeated failures keep happening
- The manufacturer stopped making parts
- The repair approaches replacement cost
- The original warranty has expired
- Several parts have failed at once
Exploring your options forEquipment upgrades
If a repair is poor value, upgrading your pad can improve filtration and meet new efficiency standards.
A look at how we handleA broken pool pump
This sample case study shows how we approach a noisy motor that stops turning.
The problem
Initial symptoms
The homeowner reported a loud squealing noise from the equipment pad, followed by the pool pump shutting off completely. The water started turning cloudy because circulation had stopped entirely.
What we did
Diagnostic findings
We found the pump motor bearings had failed due to a leaking shaft seal. The pump had required earlier repairs and replacement parts were hard to find, making another fix a poor value. We provided written prices for both the repair and a replacement.
The result
Work completed
After seeing both written prices, the homeowner chose a new variable-speed pump to meet the 2021 federal standard. We installed the pump, credited the diagnostic fee, and restored circulation so the filter could clear the water.
Standing behind ourRepair workmanship
We separate our labor guarantees from the manufacturer parts warranties.
90-day repair labor
We guarantee our repair workmanship for 90 days. If the specific fix we performed fails within that time, a technician inspects it and corrects covered work at no charge.
Installed equipment
When Kingfisher installs new equipment, we provide one year of coverage on the installation labor. This is in addition to the manufacturer’s parts warranty. We also handle the equipment registration for you.

The pump started making a terrible grinding sound. Jordan came out, explained that the bearings were shot, and gave us a written estimate. We ended up upgrading to a variable-speed model, and they credited the $85 diagnostic visit toward the installation.

Our spa heater wouldn't fire up for the weekend. Carla found a bad sensor, explained the repair cost clearly, and ordered the part. She didn't try to sell us a whole new heater just because ours was a few years old. Great troubleshooting.

We noticed water pooling around the equipment pad. Luis did a pressure test and found a leak at the filter valve. He replaced the broken fitting and explained the repair. The 90-day labor warranty on the workmanship is a helpful detail.
Sample reviewSarah T.
The automation panel threw a communication error code and wouldn't talk to the salt cell. Mei diagnosed a faulty board. She walked me through the written estimate before touching anything else. Now everything connects again.

Frequent repair questions
All QuestionsWhat is the diagnostic fee for repairs?
Our diagnostic visit is $85. If you approve the repair estimate within 30 days, we credit that $85 in full toward the final cost of the repair.
Can you give me a repair quote from a photograph?
You can send photos of equipment labels, error codes, or visible leaks to help us prepare. However, photos never replace an on-site diagnosis to see what failed.
Which equipment brands do you fix?
We repair most major pool equipment brands, including Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Raypak, and Sta-Rite. When installing new components, we use Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy.
Do you repair spa and hot tub equipment?
Yes, we diagnose and repair spa pumps, jets, heaters, and control packs. We can fix attached pool spas as well as detached hot tubs in the valley.

There is no after-hours service. Repairs for equipment that has stopped circulating water, pad leaks, or failed heaters are scheduled ahead of routine work during business hours.
Do I need to be home for the diagnostic visit?
Our technician needs safe gate access, dogs secured, and the equipment reachable. The office confirms these details when scheduling the visit.
Notice a leak or anError code on the panel
Request a repair and include photos of the equipment label or visible leak. A photo helps us prepare for the visit, though we still perform a full on-site diagnosis.
Requests are returned the same business day when they arrive before 3 PM, otherwise the next business day.
