Call us for a consultationWhen you see these signs

Pool surfaces and equipment wear down over years of use in the summer heat.

  • Rough or stained plaster

Plaster naturally wears over time. A very rough surface can point to a finish that needs to be replaced.

  • Cracked or missing tile

Waterline tile that falls off can point to work a technician should look at.

  • Water loss through the finish

A deteriorating interior finish can point to plaster or pebble that has reached the end of its life.

  • Heavy calcium scale

Las Vegas water is very hard. Thick scale that routine cleaning will not lift can point to waterline tile that needs replacing.

  • Coping coming loose

Loose deck coping can point to wear that a technician should inspect.

  • Aging equipment

Pumps and filters commonly last around 10 years, depending on run time and water balance.

What to expect duringThe renovation process

We guide you from the first look to the final startup.

  1. Site assessment

A Kingfisher technician visits your property to measure the pool and inspect the finish, waterline tile, deck coping and equipment pad.

  2. Material selections

You choose the interior finish, tile, coping and any new equipment you want added to the pad.

  3. Written proposal

We provide a written proposal with the scope and materials, reviewed by Rosa Delgado. Nothing starts without your approval.

  4. Scheduling

Once you approve the proposal, we order your materials and place your project on the construction calendar.

  5. The work

Our crews drain the pool, prepare the surface, install your new materials and upgrade the equipment pad.

  6. Startup and handoff

We refill the pool and handle the initial chemical startup, following the plaster maker's schedule before turning it over to you.

A recent KingfisherFeatured renovation project

In this sample project, we renovated a Henderson pool. The original plaster was stained, and the very hard Las Vegas water had left calcium scale at the tile line.

We drained the pool to the sanitary sewer, prepared the shell and installed a pebble finish. The crew replaced the waterline tile and deck coping, completing the work with a full chemical startup.

Questions about pool renovation

All Questions
Do I need to drain the pool for resurfacing?

Yes. We drain the water into your home’s sanitary sewer clean-out, following local water district rules. Water may never be drained into the street or a storm drain.

What interior finishes do you offer?

We offer plaster, quartz and pebble finishes. Plaster and pebble are natural materials, so color variation and normal wear are not defects.

Will a new pump save me money?

Since July 19, 2021, new pool filter pumps must meet federal efficiency standards. In practice, this means variable-speed pumps for most residential pools.

Is financing available for renovations?

Financing is available for resurfacing and renovation, subject to credit approval through a third-party lender.

Who handles the chemical startup?

Kingfisher handles the initial startup chemistry. New plaster requires specific chemical balancing, following the plaster maker’s schedule.
