Maintaining pools in theWestern Las Vegas valley

Covering over 22,000 acres, the unincorporated town of Spring Valley relies on the same hard tap water as the rest of the region. The supply contains 280 ppm total hardness. Our weekly maintenance checks the water balance for your pool.

During the intense July heat, pools lose water to evaporation. A typical 470 square foot pool can lose up to 22,842 gallons a year. Topping up the pool with hard water raises the calcium concentration over time.

When owners want to add a spa or renovate, Clark County requires a permit. Under Southern Nevada rules, single-family pools permitted after September 1, 2022 are limited to 600 square feet of combined surface area.

Desert challenges forBackyard pool equipment

Our technicians check for weather damage and mineral buildup during every route visit.

  • Heavy calcium deposits

The hard tap water leaves a white ring of calcium scale at the tile line and in gas heaters.

  • High evaporation rates

Hot weather forces evaporation. A pool cover cuts this loss by about 90 percent, but topping up with hard water increases calcium over time.

  • Summer monsoon dust

High winds in August push heavy dirt into the water. We empty clogged pump baskets to clear debris.

  • Salt cell scaling

Calcium sticks to the metal plates inside salt chlorine generators. We inspect the cell every three months on salt pools.
