Read about our process for written pool repair estimates. We cover diagnostic visits, equipment inspections and how we present the final costs.

Transparent repair pricing

When pool equipment stops working, one of the first questions is what the repair will cost. Before any repair begins, we provide a written estimate that explains the proposed work. Nothing extra is done without your approval. This gives you a chance to review the cost and decide how you want to proceed before work starts. Our founder, Rosa Delgado, built the service around explaining repairs before customers pay, and she still reviews every repair estimate over $1,000.

The diagnostic visit

A repair starts with finding out what has failed. If your pump is no longer circulating water or your heater displays an error code, our technician can inspect the equipment and explain the findings. The diagnostic visit costs $85. If you approve the repair within 30 days, that fee is credited in full toward the repair. The written estimate sets out the proposed work before we begin, so you can consider the repair cost and the options available rather than committing to work before the scope is clear.

Repair vs. replacement

Sometimes repairing a part makes sense, while in other cases replacing the equipment may be better value. We explain what failed, what the repair would cost and what replacement would cost. Our recommendation takes into account the equipment’s age, parts availability and repeated failures. Age alone is not a reason to recommend replacement. The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors and the US Department of Energy report that pumps and filters commonly last around 10 years, heaters around 8 to 11 years, and salt cells around 3 to 7 years, depending on run time and water balance. These are common lifespans rather than a fixed deadline for every pool.

Equipment upgrades and rules

If replacement is the better option, we can discuss available equipment for your pool. Federal Department of Energy standards that took effect on July 19, 2021 require new pool filter pumps to meet efficiency standards, which in practice means variable speed pumps for most residential pools. We install Pentair, Hayward and Jandy equipment. When we install new equipment, we register it with the manufacturer where required. The manufacturer’s parts warranty has its own terms and duration, separate from our one year warranty on installation labor.

How Kingfisher Pool & Spa helps

We repair pumps and motors, cartridge, DE and sand filters, gas heaters, heat pumps, automation and controls, salt chlorine generators, pool and spa lighting, automatic cleaners and spa equipment. Our repair labor is covered by a 90 day workmanship warranty. Equipment that has stopped circulating water, a leak at the equipment pad, or a failed pool or spa heater is scheduled ahead of routine work during business hours. We do not offer after-hours service. Calls received before 3 PM are returned the same business day; later calls are returned the next business day. We serve Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City, and provide a written estimate before repair work begins.
